I was once asked by a very wise man, if my home was searched and under investigation could I be convicted of being a Christian? I would suppose that the answer is, absolutely. It got me thinking about what he really meant by this question. He explained that having items in our homes that help others understand and learn about our faith can help us share that faith with others.
Sometimes when you walk into a home you can tell quickly if those who live there are Christians. Christians usually have art of Christ or they might even have the family bible on top of the living room table. Wall art with scriptural sayings such as, “The family that prays together stays together” or “The Lord is my shepherd”, etc are quite popular among Christians. Things such as this could help others know that we are people of faith.
During the Christmas season it can sometimes be obvious, however, some non-religious people might have a Christmas tree or nativities. Christians sometimes try to show their Christian beliefs more in their décor through items such as the creche or angel on the top of the Christmas tree.
A good way to show and share our faith is the types of paintings, art, sayings and other artwork that adorn our walls. We can show others through these things that we are people of faith. It shows that we are not ashamed of the gospel of Christ as the bible says, and God’s word is important and is for everyone. Inspirational Christian art is just one way to help share our faith with others.
The answer is yes, we are able to share our faith with others to share and learn of the word of God by hanging Christian art in our home, and we can definitely teach others about our Christian faith and values.
